Custom production
Are you interested in implementing some custom product and you don´t know what to watch and how you proceed? Before you ask for a quotation you should be aware of what the final price will likely consist of and what effect on the final amount has demanded number of pieces.
The requirement of individual solutions is usually accompanied by a focus on the individual graphic design or design that represents the need for printing. Print related to the quality of input data, the number of colors (a kind of CMYK or PMS), embodiment (unilateral, multilateral printing) with the required additional coating (lamination etc.), with the size - the format of the printed sheet, the right choice of printing technologies (offset, digital, screen printing, flexography ...), which in turn depends on the material used, the number of units and standards of print.
Just for clarify, for example, offset printing represents the top quality printing but it is also burden by the fixed costs of producing printing plates (for each color + varnish if necessary) and start printers (including necessary waste input, ie. the macula). Here apply, the higher you will have an expense, the much more advantageous you will have the offset. The price of one copy can be from 1.000 near the actual material cost. The cost of printing one piece but will be astronomical. This also applies to other printing technologies.
Just how many pieces is worth such as offset printing? When measuring more than A3 is offset the best option since 300 copies, then the smaller sizes from 500 units above. The major cost is definitely worthwhile to use digital technologies which are often restricted and the maximum format which are able to print. Of course, with regard to additional production it is necessary to keep in mind that it must always produce a greater number of units than that real demand.
If the product is in demand for which is expected to finish the shape and thus the shape cutting is necessary to again count on one-time expense for the acquisition of cutting tools. To determine the final price, in addition to those factors, also affect subsequent manufacturing operations in which among other things also need to calculate the preparation and adjustment of the machine.
In other words, if the fixed costs of producing one unit, for example, would amount to 260 euro, then the production of 1 unit price will correspond with the least amount of any profits freight and shipping. At a costs of 100 pieces, the fixed costs of producing one unit featuring "only" 3.4 Euro instead of the present amount of 260 Euro, then at a costs of 1.000 pieces a costs is only 0.6 Euro for 1 piece.
The least number of units that can be for our customers interesting and from which we are able to deal with any individual demand, is 300 pieces. In this number is custom manufacturing by traditional production methods usually unprofitable for both parties.
